This innovative chronograph is the result of a deep reflection on the role of timing in sports competitions. In many sports, it’s often important to measure elapsed times with different starting times. This occurs, for example, in races like marathons or biathlons where athletes do not cross the starting line at the same time or in motor racing where two drivers, during the race tests, start at different times. In events like these, where the starting time is different for every sportsman, the KLEPCYS DICE chronograph can measure the times between two consecutive runners or racing drivers. A similar situation arises in car rallies, where it is common to use two independent chronographs. Our latest timepiece facilitates this operation thanks to the two monopusher crowns, which are essential to avoid any unwanted manipulation.
Inspired by timing demands for sporting competitions, Klepcys DICE (acronym for Double Independent Chronograph Evolution) is an innovative “Double Independent Monopusher Chronograph”. First introduced in 2021, the latest addition to the DICE family is the “Klepcys DICE Racing”. With a revamped look, it experiments for the first time with an innovative material that the Maison has never used before. The grade 5 titanium case teams with an all-new black matt carbon fiber bezel.
The timepiece is equipped with two independent monopusher chronographs for measuring two short time intervals independently or in synchrony, all housed in a single manufactured mechanical self-winding movement. Its star function, the 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, features two mirrored red and blue hands. The same colour scheme is applied to the two central seconds hands, which track the seconds on the flange printed with two parallel scales in the same colours.
